Slide-Glide Gun Lube, Heavy, Tub (Heavy Viscosity) Applications: 80+ degrees F Semi-automatic, Centerfire Firearms Advantages over other oils and greases:It softens felt recoil in semi-autos It is super “stringy” - it stays where you put it - forever. It is blended with the highest-grade extreme pressure compound available. Working with a fellow shooter and lubrication engineer, I developed Slide-Glide over the course of my twenty-year professional competitive shooting career. Slide-Glide provides a dramatic improvement in lubrication compared to conventional oils and greases such as lithium, or lithium-based metallic greases containing molybdenum or graphite. It is engineered to have a stringy characteristic that prevents tracking or shearing on sliding metal surfaces. It stays put - ceaselessly dragging itself back into the friction areas of the cycling slide and barrel. Its stringy characteristic keeps the grease between the moving parts - noticeably softening the felt recoil of semi-atuomatic pistols. Your pistol just feels “smoother” when you shoot it. And Slide-Glide isn't just for pistols. It slicks up revolver actions, pump and semi-automatic shotguns, semi-automatic, bolt and lever-action rifles, and even your favorite reloading press. It has many, many uses - apply it to hinges, latches, and bearings of all types. If friction is involved, put some Slide-Glide on it. Be creative. Packaging includes cleaning and application instructions.

Great for Sig P226/P229's to prevent and "cure" Sig slide rattle
Have been using this on my P229 (.40) which I've had for a couple of years. Probably 500 rnds through the pistol. The slide to frame fit on the P22x series is not as tight by design compared to better 1911's so you hear of complaints of Sig rattle or the slide to frame fit feels too loose. My P229 Elite doesn't have side to side play only play up and down if that makes sense. With the Heavy version of this it takes that away and the pistol functions flawlessly. On my P229 I have zero wear on the frame and slide. Not a wear mark anywhere. Barrel does not show the normal half moon wear mark at the front of the barrel. My barrel to slide fit is perfect. Zero movement. Slide and barrel were hand fitted at Sig from day 1 as the first barrel had a small imperfection from the factory so I sent it in for service and they fit a new barrel to my slide. Is this grease perfect, no - it smells, and if you use too much it leaches everywhere after firing a hundred rounds. It does melt or liquify which is fine - just don't expect it to maintain its "thickness" or sticky-ness if you fire it over 100 rounds without cleaning and reapplying. This is petro based and doesn't appear to be synthetic - it does not harm the Sig Nitron finish in any way. I won't use it on my P226 Legion which is supposed to be Cerakoted. Slide to frame fit is much tighter than either my P229 .40 Elite or P229 9mm Elite so I use either BattleBorn or Slip2000 which is pretty amazing as well.Overall I'd use it to take some of the Sig P22x slop - it also seems to prevent slide to frame wear. Never a cycling fault as it doesn't slow the slide recoil. No ejection of FTF problems. Only wish it would keep its thickness/stickyness over a period of more than 100 rounds.

Great for SIG P-series
I bought this for my SIG P220 Carry Elite (Dark) in order to prevent extra wear on my frame and various other parts. I have noticed a remarkable improvement in slide function. Not that there was anything wrong with it before, but the slide cycle feels ridiculously smooth now. It feels like the slide is sitting on air. This is a MUST HAVE for SIG owners looking for an even more fluid slide cycle and also for those SIG owners who, like myself, are looking to prevent excess wear on their aluminum framed pistols. I haven't used the Slide-Glide on a Glock, M&P or CZ yet, but I can only imagine that it would be very useful on those and countless other models as well.I suggest using a small paint brush or q-tip to apply (don't be too skimpy with it) to all springs, decocking-lever internals, guide rod, and most importantly the slide/frame rails.

One Lub to rule them all...
This is the best lubricant on the market! I'm actually still on my first tub of slide glide which has lasted me 4 years and decided to go ahead and buy one of each viscosity to make sure I never run out of lubricant. The best test is to rack your firearm several times before application. Feel and listen to the gun. Then apply slide glide and rack it several times . The sound and feel of your gun is completely different. Then go shoot it at least 100 rounds and notice that the lubricant will still be in place and the firearm will still be silky smooth. Any other lubricant will melt and run out within 100 rounds. Slide Glide is here to stay.

There is no other gun grease... it ...
There is no other gun grease...it has totally changed the way my 1911's operate, my only advice is, make sure you use the right weight of this grease to match the temperature out side. Most people will probably use the "lite" version.

Good product
Jury is still out, but stays where you put it. Haven`t heated up the frame, or slide enough to see if it runs. I am not expecting it to because it`s reviews have been very favorable.

Great deal for the manufacturer but not such a great deal for the buyer...
This stuff is very expensive especially when you realize you're probably getting maybe an ounce or two. The tub is probably 1" x 1".

Slip, slide and glide
Great stuff. Has helped tremendously with my 1911. I keep it well gooped up and oily and it has not failed to battery or load ever since using it.
