Amazed by how good it is!
I highly recommend this camera. The best thing is that it plugs into a regular outlet. I bought the memory card suggested as an accessory by Amazon so I do not need a cloud subscription. It was very easy to install, the instructions were very precise. I put it inside the house to check the entrance to the house and it works like a charm!I looked up suggestions online and removed the nighttime vision so that it gives a better view thru the glass. I can easily watch the videos and erase if needed. Sometimes, at night it gives me an alert for just sensing brighter lights and during the day for shadows from the tree moving in the wind. This camera had met every need and expectation!

Super impressed! Great pet cam!
Wow, I was really pleased and happy with this purchase for the price paid. It does everything I wanted it to and more. The purpose was to see and check on my cats while on vacation. The picture quality is pretty darn good, too, even the night vision. So many good things about this: the app let's you pan almost the whole room, tilt up and down, zoom in, set motion detection and notifications, and even follow the motion around if you want, and you can even speak into your phone so your pets can hear you! And what can be better than this? No subscription needed for all that! There is a subscription option, but I didn't sign up for it, so I'm not sure what that entails. Some reviews mentioned getting a memory card, but I didn't get one, and it's fine for my purposes. The cord is long, which is super helpful. Highly recommend!

Excellent, versatile indoor camera.
Nice sharp video and many controls including motion detection. It has an easy to activate privacy mode. Since it is connected to your internet, you can access the camera anywhere you get a WiFi connection.Setup is a bit tricky. I had to connect my phone WiFi to the Tapo firt then follow the app to connect the Tapo to my WI Fi. I found that my phone needed to be within about 6 ft to the Tapo to get connected.Overall, a great WiFi camera.

Tapo Monitoring System-Black
Tapo Camera/Monitoring SystemCertainly a fairly economical video monitoring system. We made 2 purchases initially then added another a few weeks later and 1 more for a total of 4 covering 4 different areas/rooms. 3x was 1080HD and 1x was 2k version. It’s been a few months of daily usage and monitoring, for the most part they have been quite beneficial but not without some shortcomings. Below are some pros and cons:PROS:Video: High enough quality for 1080HD, the 2k version does add a bit of extra clarity but at a distance greater than 25 feet it’s only slightly noticeable.Pan/Tilt: It’s a pretty nice feature to have, although a bit of a limitation for the tilt part when it’s standing upright; when it’s mounted on say the ceiling, it offers better range for the tilt.Motion Detection & Tracking: both are nice features to have to trigger the camera, the tracking appears to do a good job in following the movements.Cloud or physical SD card storage: good to have both options available but given our needs a few 128GB and 256GB SD cards workedModes: day mode, night mode and auto mode settings can be easily toggled depending on the time of day and lighting for better video clarity. In addition, the camera has a built in night vision to aid in video capture during dim lighting.Audio: is sufficient and clear enough during recording and live 2-wayEcosystem: Tapo ecosystem/app isn’t too bad, since we have multiple cameras it’s one Tapo app and all the videos/cameras can be streamed/stored in 1 app and displayed 1 screen at a time or split screens in 2s,3s,4s etc.CONS:One of the features that can be improved is the 2 minute pause. During this time, a note will be prompted “you have viewed the live video for 2 minutes without any operation. continue the viewing? “. We find this feature to be a bit of a nuisance especially if one is looking for a continual visual feed.Video capture: the camera appears to have a sleep mode so there may be a bit of a delay before recording begins, thus sometimes some footages aren’t fully captured, sometimes a few seconds are noticeably missing if not longer; at times we also notice with distances greater than 25 feet, footages aren’t always captured or only partially captured. It’s probably not the cameras fault but if there a bit of a weaker WiFi signal,Interference or dead spot then the monitoring system may not sync with the Tapo camera so no video can be seen. We find the kitchen area next to all the appliances may be causing some interference. During this temporary “outage” the (camera) recording seems to be working just not able to view/monitor. Troubleshooting is as simple as getting closer to the camera with the mobile device, restarting the app or WiFi or restarting the Tapo camera by pulling and replugging it.

great
clear image, great camera. I have a blink camera outside and this is much better as far as the quality of picture. It makes me mad to think about the money I spent on the Blink for this one to be so cheap and so much better. I have not worked with the recording feature, though

Extremely easy to use, but they do have to be plugged in
I bought one of these to help me keep an eye on my cat when I was out, and I now have 8 of them. They work great! I can set up the app to flip through them just by swiping; I could also do a 2x2 gridview if I wanted. They swivel a full 360 degrees and have good up/down movement. The night vision is very clear. I can take pictures and videos through them, which is a new way to take a selfie. One major downside is that they have to be plugged in, so I'm limited to placing them near outlets. You need something like the model 425 if you want a chargeable one, and that model doesn't swivel. So I have one of that sort to cover what would otherwise be a major gap, and it integrates into the app seamlessly. The other downside is that the motion sensors give a lot of false positives even with the sensitivity reduced. Maybe that's endemic to the technology? I've never had a motion sensor before. I've also not been able to get the microphone to work consistently, which I think is a matter of not trying to use it often enough to remember how it works. And there can be a few seconds lag. These aren't obtrusive but they are clearly visible.
