We purchased this thinking we could replace our existing shower head.But the wall where the main valves need to be installed needs to be deeper than a standard 2x4 depth wall.After looking over various solutions with our plumber, expanding the wall in front in behind, we decided it would be too much work to re-wall everything just to fit the main valve unit.Needed to return

I built an addition on my house to add an extra bedroom, bathroom and media room and wanted a deluxe, spa-like shower in the new bathroom and this set was exactly what I needed.The shower base is 3' x 5' so it wasn't so wide that having the body jets right and left (opposite ends) would be too far apart.I set the height of the body jets at:24” for the knees down, 36” from the waist down and 48” for the chest down.I didn't want the top body spray so it would spray you in the face area because that could get annoying. I figured the main rain head would be ample for head and shoulders and would be on all of the time anyway, so I didn't want the arrangement to be redundant.I have a 3/4” line coming into the house with 72 PSI of pressure into a PEX manifold, so I have plenty of volume and pressure to the shower to full capacity.The supply to the main valve is sized at 1/2” and the valve more than likely has a reduced water flow by law, so there will be a slight pressure drop if trying to use all of the valves at once.The water heater is an Eccotemp 6 gallon per minute, so it can supply more than enough hot water for this shower as well.I set the rain head pipe coming out of the wall at 7'-5” above the shower base floor because it comes down about 5” and I wanted clearance for someone 6'+ to be able to stand under the rain head and be able to wash their hair with space for their hands without bumping the shower head.I have a 9' ceiling, but this would still work in a standard 8' high ceiling.I wasn't worried about the water splashing over the shower enclosure because the rain head is more cascading and doesn't spray as hard as a regular shower head and actually gives a better effect when it comes from a little higher up.I gave the shower a test run and although it will not blast you from all directions, it's a good enough volume of water to expedite the showering process and make it more efficient to get nice and clean.Also to have the hot water coming in from all directions on a cold day will be very nice to be able to relax away some tension with the hot water and steam enveloping you.The main valve fit fine into a 2 x 4 wall cavity and I used a piece of 1/2” treated plywood as a backer board to mount the valve to that I notched into the back of the studs behind.With the depth of the 2 x 4's and adding another inch with tile board and the tile, the valves/handles came out exactly the right amount.Maybe if you're using a thin pre-fab shower surround, the valves might come out too far, but this type of valve is usually used in a tile shower and you would want/need the valves to extend out a little more anyway.I like the fact that this set has separate manual valves for each operation and not the push-button type. This will still operate even as some calcium build-up and sediment will inevitably accumulate over time whereas a push-button type might start to stick and not operate correctly.I also have more confidence that the valve will seat better when closing them opposed the the push-button type as well, so they will not drip when not using.Of all of the custom touches and add-ons I've done with the addition, the one thing people seeing it get the most inflection in the voice over it this shower head set-up.“Wow! Look at that shower. That would be so nice to use.”The price is great compared to the big box home improvement stores that were basically double for the same type and just in a standard brand (not one of the weirdly spelled names – hint hint) which I would've had to take out a mortgage for one of those.The set was shipped and received fast and it very well packaged to protect all of the contents.The finish is nice and looks like it will stand the test of time.I will update my review if I encounter any use issues long-term.For now, I can definitely recommend.

Love my rain shower system. The jets and shower head can be used at the same time , although the rain shower water pressure does get weaker when this happens. We’ve had this system for a month now and so far so good!
