Great for prevention - not a fix for an already festering bacterial infection
this product was vet recommended for our double doodle who has had a couple of ear infections. i started using it when he started scratching his ears and shaking his head and they developed a 'musty' smell with some pink. the vet recommended saturating large cotton balls with the solution and putting them at the opening of the ear canal, closing the ear flaps over them and rubbing/massaging the ear to get the fluid in there; then wipe with cotton balls to clean out the debris. i think his biggest problem is yeast so the ph balance of this product really works to tamp that down. it's not going to fix an already developed ear infection; but, it can prevent them by cleaning the debris and making the environment unfriendly to yeast/bacterial growth. my dog offers his head/ears and remains still while i clean his ears, and he seems more comfortable after cleanings. and bonus - his ears smell better!

Top-Notch Solution for Pet Ear Care
I’ve been using the Virbac Epi-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser (8 oz) for my cat’s routine ear cleaning, and it’s become a staple in our grooming routine. If you’ve got a dog or cat prone to ear gunk or just want to keep their ears healthy, this stuff is a solid choice. What’s Awesome: This cleanser is a vet-recommended gem for dogs and cats of any age, designed to tackle ear debris, wax, and odor without irritation. Its neutral pH formula, packed with 0.2% salicylic acid and glycotechnology (monosaccharides like L-rhamnose, D-galactose, and D-mannose), clears out gunk and prevents microbial buildup, which is great for pets with sensitive ears or chronic otitis externa. I noticed my cat’s ears were noticeably cleaner and less smelly after just a couple of uses, with no scratching or head-shaking since. It’s super easy to apply—shake the bottle, pour a bit into the ear canal, massage the base, let your pet shake it out, and wipe with a cotton ball. No cotton swabs needed, which is safer for the eardrum, as a vet tech reviewer emphasized. Amazon users love it, with one saying, “It’s a game-changer for my floppy-eared dog—no infections since starting weekly cleanings.” The anti-odor tech lives up to the hype; my cat’s ears went from funky to fresh in days. At $20-$26 for 8 oz, it’s a great value for frequent use, especially for water dogs or allergy-prone pets.

Love love love
Why did you pick this product vs others?:As a former vet tech, I LOVE this ear wash. It smells good. Easy to use. Actually dries itself if you don’t get it all. It really cleans the dog’s ears well. Very good for the value of money!

Works well but smelly
The product works well - cleans my dog‘s ears. However the product is smelly & when my dog shakes his head, the product which is semi oily goes everywhere and leaves a residue. I will try other products that are less smelly but if they do not work out, I will continue to use this product
